Won the toss and elected to bat

Full Scorecard

On the coldest day known to man, ever. We were still playing cricket. Worlds gone mad.
Not sure if we won toss or lost but we were batting. And it all got a bit soar after cv been asking to move is car a minute before hes batting n every one badgering for something while he trying to pad up(well done lads- think on.) Came out with his mind shot to bits n came off 2 balls later which was to be a good ball tbf. But his mind was scrambled n only 2nd team time this year he didn’t get himself out. But hes had a solid year with the bat and pleasant to watch him in full flow.
Gibson and Cuff set around a recovery and batted time and put on 37 against a wily old fox and Usain bolt getting it to dangerously nip around. Gibson went for 12 off 44 and has had a fairly solid year only really failing to do his job twice this year much to the annoyance of gaz teasedale in one game(who gets a mention in end of season write up just as a solid thanks to some of his batting masterclasses this year comfortably winning the batting averages with 234 runs- 2 50s with an average of 39).
Cuff looked very good as he has done all year for 31 and a couple of times this ye.ar was looking well set for 50 plus. Alan Cuff is Thackley cc and no amount to thanks from everyone at the club should be giving him on a regular occurrence will put into context just how much he does, hes the landlord, groundsman, treasurer, problem solver, mechanic and anything else bhulla tells him to do, and again to put into context to ensure 22 lads can play cricket on a saturday hes 3 times dropped out to either score or ensure everything went smoothly 1st game, or to cover bar to ensure we keep the punters happy n thackley in the black. Thanks al.
Then the batting fell away, floppy dogged out a 3 off 23 and if youd pay money to watch cv n gaz bat, youd happily pay money to leave the ground when floppy his batting, his batting could best be described as a rollercoaster of emotions. Patty got 5- again more fff the pitch but hes very much a unsung hero in the background also down when he can doing something to help alcutting the off field. For a footballer hes not a bad cricketer at all- thanks for snatching my catch!
Basa got a golden, but since coming back down had a solid year with the gloves with others who could vye to take his slot and got useful runs most games floating between 6-9. Hope he goes from strength to strength.
Tom and Harry the juniors in today both show promise and hopefully picking up experience will go on to be big parts of the club going forward, kaiden and charlie get a mention- the king of thackley stepping up to 1st team last game and hopefully he strives to stay their- he came in 2s a boy- he leaves a manboy.  But pleasure to see him improve year on year, and Kaiden began to show hes got heart and dedication and will have a solid senior career- best of luck with the ACL.
Anyway our middle order got decimated going from 37-2 to 70-9 until solid knocks from Rob (13no) and Henry (a very classy 19) got us 101ao.
It was hard work and we did bat 40 iv5ers so the effort was their all round.
Henry opened and well ye he came off after 2 overs pouting but not angry as he couldn’t get it right- he however since coming back has bowled class this year and would do a solid job in 1st or 2nd anytime. He has a heavy bowl then when gets right will be just has good as any in club.
Harry the junior blooded through this year as had a good start to senior cricket and expect to see big things from him in 2021.
Rob bowled badly today for 1st time in 2nd team this year, solid bowler who’s third best bowler in club and should have been used more in 1s especially when consistently going for more than 250 on a few occasions. But a massive addition to 2nds- as fully transformed into a wily old fox with a box of tricks and had a solid year.
And Dan the pick of the bowlers with 2-16 managing to bowl someone middle stump coming the wicket- the hand grenades finishing the year with 7 wickets at 15 a piece so anyone still taking piss can go fuck themselves. Foolifoot ended up getting 3 down in around 18 overs.
Highlight of the day was getting back to see 2nd teamer mags smashing it over club house and wisey smashing it over car park, over road and breaking some roof tiles and the other end of the street. Huge.
Go well TCC, getting the basis of a 2nd team to cement mid table and above with his massive improvements from last year.
